Bonded Washers

AR Bearings & Transmissions stock all international standard size bonded washers, to suit a wide range of both imperial and metric thread sizes.

 

Metals

 

EN8 mild steel - zinc plated (yellow) is the most common or standard metal component.

316 Stainless steel washers are also available.

 

Rubbers

 

Nitrile (NBR) is the most commonly used.

Viton (fluorocarbon) is also very widely available across the range.

 

Other rubbers are available – usually on a made to order basis these are:

 

Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR)      Silicone     Flurosilicone
Ethylene Propylene (EPDM)          Neoprene

 

Types

 

There are basically two types of bonded washer, the traditional standard non centralising type, which fit loosely over the thread.

Also available is the newer self centralising type which has an extra membrane of rubber that is designed to lightly grip the thread thus centralising the seal.
